Every Montecristi Panama hat we make comes standard with a high-grade leather interior sweatband. We typically use pull-up leather or oil-tan leather made locally in Ecuador. This is the same style of band we have used for over 25 years because it is comfortable, durable, and helps protect the hat over years of wear.

This is a Genuine Montecristi Panama hat. Montecristi hats are prized for their finer weave, lighter feel, elegant appearance, and the long tradition of craftsmanship behind them. If you want the classic luxury Panama hat - handmade in Ecuador and built with lasting quality in mind - Montecristi is the standard by which all others are judged.
This Montecristi Fino Fino grade is for customers who want a truly high-end Montecristi Panama hat with a very fine and highly refined weave. Hats at this level can only be woven with especially fine straw and by a very skilled craftsman, because the weave is extremely fine and much more demanding to produce. This grade is an important step upward from Super Fino and is intended for customers who want a more exceptional hat with a rarer level of craftsmanship.
WPI means weaves per inch. This Montecristi Fino Fino grade generally falls in a WPI range of about 400 - 624, with an average around 520 WPI. Please note that there is more to grading a hat than just counting weaves, but WPI is one of the important factors we consider on every hat. Each hat falls within a range rather than one exact number.

What is shown is just a base image so it does not show nothing in the builder.</p> that model is a western Catelmen it is a rare model we can offer it, but is a Placeholder right now for any custom Modeled Hat. <p>That modelis a difficult hat to make in a Montecristi straw dew to the extra tall crown and generally large brim sizes makes this hat a special order. Crowns Heights generally are between 4 5/8" to 5" tall this is the tallest to the point that the front is actually be taller in other places (sides), this is the tallest crown we offer and may have extra charges.</p> <p>Just use it as a selector for custum styles for now .. if you did want that model then you would have to let us know that you would like it to be the catelmens Model in the comsnts box and their could be an adidtional charge for that model</p>

Beyond Serious Sun Protection: Larger brims begin to take on a stronger western look, which can be a great style choice - especially for Texas, or for anyone who likes that bold sun hat appearance. Because of their added size and weight, these larger brims tend to tip downward a bit in both the front and back and can feel a little floppy in the wind. If you add a curled edge to the brim, it will hold its shape much better. Even a small curled edge adds noticeable rigidity and helps the brim keep a cleaner shape.
Brim size can be difficult to recommend because many factors affect the right choice, including where you live, the local culture, how much sun protection you want, and your personal style.
Serious Sun Protection and Serious Style - Larger Than Standard Brims: This brim offers extremely generous coverage. There is a charge for larger than standard brims, and that price difference is already reflected in the price shown. This is because the weaver must spend additional time extending the brim and will charge a little more for that extra work.
We usually need time to make this hat for you because we almost never have this size in stock unless you are viewing it in the stock section. In most cases, this hat will need to be specially woven as a custom-made hat, so please allow extra time for production.
